It’s the most wonderful time of the year and there was no better way to kick off the countdown to Christmas in Broome than with some wet and wild fun recently.

Seven West Media hosted its Kids’ Christmas Party last Saturday morning, giving a sold-out crowd of 500 the chance to soak up all the festive fun.

Children dived head-first into the day’s entertainment at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre, with everything from a splash-around in the pool and face painting to a sausage sizzle and wacky science demonstrations.

Matilda Farley, 10, and sister Evie, 7, were among the seemingly never-ending queue of children who snapped up photo opportunities with Father Christmas — one of the highlights of the annual party. SWM Kimberley branch manager Claudia Amiet said the event built on the success of previous years.

“It was an enjoyable, safe and relaxed day for all attendees, from face painting to WannaPlay offering a silly science show and bubble land, to the always popular gladiator ring, bouncy castle, free sausage sizzle and, of course, the most important man of the day, Santa, who handed out hundreds of lolly bags to happy Broome kids,” she said.
