
Broome Turf Club’s fifth race meeting of the season on July 11 was run on a good track and produced a series of impressive performances across the seven-race program.
The afternoon began with the Totally Workwear Maiden (1435m), where Bondi Queen, ridden by Jefferson Tsang, broke through for a convincing maiden victory.
Viva Marconi (Tiana Murray) finished strongly to claim second, while Angel Like You, with rider Bonnie Casey, rounded out the placings in third.
Race two, the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm Handicap (1100m), saw What’s The Point, partnered by Austin Galati, score an impressive win after holding off the fast-finishing favourite Dust Aside (Kyra Yuill).
Majestuoso Phoenix, ridden by Jessica Gray, completed the trifecta with a solid third-place effort.
The Progressive Supplies Handicap (1600m) produced another stand-out performance as Vevinsky, with Peter Farrell aboard, powered home to take the honours.
Why Me (Jefferson Tsang) chased gamely into second, while Let’sdeal (Simone Altieri) finished third after settling into the race well.
In the Mangrove Hotel Handicap (1200m), Now You See Me, ridden by Jefferson Tsang, gave the jockey his second winner of the afternoon with a commanding display.
Cruise To Victory (Jessica Gray) filled the runner-up position, with Climb On Top (Ava Catarino) was third.
The Kelly Airconditioning & Refrigeration Handicap (1435m) featured a competitive finish, with Zorbrist, partnered by Austin Galati, proving too strong.
Big Shots (Jessica Gray) ran on well for second, narrowly ahead of The Top Bar (Kyra Yuill) in third.
Stayers took centre stage in the Kimberley Regional Service Providers Handicap (1780m), where Pharoah Show, ridden by Jessica Gray, delivered a strong staying performance.
Wolfman (Jefferson Tsang) claimed second, while Lautre (Gene O’Donnell) finished third to complete the placings.
The meeting concluded with the DC Data Handicap (1300m), where Shasfa, ridden by Gene O’Donnell, finished powerfully to claim victory. Rulesque (Rocky Cheung) chased hard to finish second, while Sempre (Kyra Yuill) completed the top three.
The meeting featured winning doubles for jockeys Tsang and Galati.
Gray also enjoyed an outstanding afternoon with a winning ride aboard Pharoah Show and three runner-up finishes, while competitive racing throughout the card provided an entertaining afternoon for Broome racegoers.
