Wallaroos scrum-half Samantha Wood became the first-ever dual winner of the Rebecca Clough Medal after being named the Super Rugby Women’s top individual performer of the 2026 Super W season.

About 150 guests gathered at the WACA Ground’s Wally Edwards Function Centre for the gala awards night that is named after WA women’s rugby pioneer Rebecca Clough.

Perth-born Wood claimed the medal for the second time in 2024 before spending the 2025 season on the sidelines with a nerve injury.

She also won the Members’ MVP award, voted by 2026 Western Force members.

Force head coach Dylan Parsons said on the night that Wood has been “massive for us this season” and to be voted the Rebecca Clough winner by her teammates is “great recognition”.

“Her hard work and dedication to her game is a great example of when you commit to the process and don’t get bored of it then you earn yourself the consistent performances that she had all year,” he said.
