Pioneers plan dramatic tour through West Africa

Travel Directors has earned its reputation for innovation.
It pioneered Trans Siberian Express packages.
It invented The Five Stans tour through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan — which is now widely copied.
And it has come up with a creative new tour.
Tribes and Thrones of West Africa visits Ghana, Togo, Benin, Senegal and The Gambia.
A Travel Directors spokesperson says: “This tour is perfect for the seasoned traveller seeking meaning, mystery and connection with age-old cultures.”
From royal courts to sacred shrines, travellers will attend authentic ceremonies, meet local priests and priestesses, explore temples and learn about the fetishes that pulse through this less-visited part of Africa.
Just two of the many highlights:
+ In Accra, the travellers will visit a workshop that specialises in Fantasy Coffins. They can be of any shape, from cars to cocoa pods, cigarette packets to crocodiles.
Krobo Tribe is an artisan community in Ghana known for its glass beads, which are produced for ceremonies and aesthetic decoration. Beads have been produced using the same technique for centuries. Today, scrap glass and recycled bottles are ground into a fine powder as the base for the beads.
The 26-day tour leaves March 23, 2027, and is $23,950 per person, all inclusive (international flights, accommodation, meals).
