Perth soccer stars and their partners were dressed to the nines for Perth Glory’s Most Glorious Players awards held at The Westin, where Brian Kaltak and Tijan McKenna scooped major honours.
For defender Kaltak, taking out the Most Glorious Player completed an incredible night for him as he was also named the Men’s Members’ and Players’ Player of the Year in what was his debut season with the club.
Perth’s McKenna also took home the MGP for her consistency and excelling in several different positions on the field.
Some notable fashion moments of the night included gowns with a high leg split and striking dresses ranging from classic white to vibrant red and orange.
Goalkeeper Teresa Morrissey was named Members’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year, while Rola Badawiya took out the Golden Boot and also won Goal of the Year for her round two strike against Brisbane Roar at HBF Park.
Grace Johnston was named the women’s Best Young Player Award.
Over in the men’s, the DT 38 Young Player of the Season was handed to another West Aussie, 19-year-old midfielder Giovanni De Abreu.
The other men’s players who also won big were Jaiden Kucharski who claimed the Goal of the Year Award for his match-winner against Auckland FC in round 15 and Tom Lawrence, Nicholas Pennington and Adam Taggart who shared the Bobby Despotovski A-League Men’s Golden Boot.
The night wouldn’t be complete without a special tribute to club legend Josh Risdon to mark his retirement after a 16-year career in which he became Glory’s all-time A-League record appearances holder.
