Australia are eyeing an Ashes whitewash - and the bulk of the bumper crowd on hand at the MCG is hoping to watch it happen.

The Aussies may have wrapped up the series inside just 11 days, but they’re keen to put the foot on the throat even in the absence of star bowling duo Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon.

Can they continue to roll, or will BazBalling England finally provide some stern resistance?

Follow the latest below, with play set to start at 10.30am EDT (7.30am WA time).

That’s where we’ll leave it

I need a lie down after that in what was a scarcely believable day of Test cricket.

We’ll be back from 7am tomorrow but we’ll also have all the action from the Scorchers who get underway at 6pm tonight.

Until then bye for now!

Analysis

STUMPS AUSTRALIA 0-4 lead by 46 runs

Massive cheers as Boland makes his way off the ground with red ink next to his name.

20 wickets fall in a day of massive drama but it ends with Australia having the advantage on a sporty pitch.

Some very good bowling mixed in by some poor batting on both sides but for a record crowd at the MCG it was a day none will soon forget.

1st Over: AUS 0-4

Gus Atkinson bowls, not Tongue.

Five slips and a gully.

Pops up! But over short leg and lands safely.

Huge LBW shout but Atkinson isn’t interested as it was going well down.

Outside off and left alone.

Defended solidly into the offside. Two to go.

EDGE! But Bethell drops a tough low chance and gully. One to go.

FOUR! Thick edge and it runs away past the gully to the boundary to bring the biggest cheer of the day!

SCOTT BOLAND IS GOING TO OPEN AT THE G!

With only one over to go, it’s probably the smart move, what cheers he will get if he can survive this.

Josh Tongue is on a hat-trick from the last innings.

20 wickets in a day

Well you would have thought Australia would take a 42 run lead after being bowled out before tea?

This pitch is a monster but Australia were just that bit more discplined with the ball.

Harry Brook was entertaining for his 41 but beyond that, it was too hard for England whether they Bazballed or not.

Australia will have one over to survive until stumps. Yuck

ENGLAND ALL OUT 110

15 minutes until stumps. Atkinson is frustrating Australia with this last pair putting on 19.

Cam Green is on likely to bowl the short stuff.

Ouch! Atkinson turns away and cops one straight on the body.

Bowls him! Green goes the yorker and England are bowled out in a session.

28th Over: ENG 9-110

Starc returns, just one slip for Atkinson with the rest of the field out.

He drives straight enough down the ground to pick up two.

Takes the single off the fifth ball. Tongyue confidently defends the last.

27th Over: ENG 9-107

Atkinson is still trying to hit out as he drives a single to mid-off to give Tongue one ball to survive.

There’s a thick edge wide of gully and they don’t take the single
