AFL: Is today the day we see West Coast make a move?

The Eagles continue to scope out the possibility of bringing in Jack Viney or Gryan Miers to add experience to their young list, while the Dockers are assessing their options after on Tuesday finding a landing spot for Nathan O’Driscoll.

Stay across the latest news and developments in the trade space here!

Eagles renew Rivers interest

West Coast are expected to turn their attention to Melbourne half-back Trent Rivers after the door was closed on a potential trade for Geelong premiership forward Gryan Miers on Wednesday.

New favourite emerges for Lions job

Following Danny Daly’s withdrawal, the Lions have named the panel that will select their next coach.

And there’s a new clear favourite.

Eagles sign former Bulldog

West Coast have wasted little time in bolstering their WAFL list, adding a former Western Bulldogs defender only a month after he was delisted by the Victorian club.

Will Eagles split pick No.3?

West Coast chief executive Don Pyke says it will take something “unbelievable” for the Eagles to trade out their first-round pick in this year’s national draft, but won’t categorically rule it out.

Lions forward wants out of Brisbane

Will McLachlan wants a trade to Melbourne.

The 21-year-old has played seven games since being taken at pick No.6 in the 2024 mid-season draft.

Despite playing just one game this year, he has been highly rated inside the four walls at Brisbane and drawn comparisons to Kai Lohmann with the Lions hopeful of keeping him.

“We’re desperate to retain Will, there’s just a bit of a queue in front him. We don’t intend to give him up lightly,” list manager Dom Ambrogio said earlier today.

Voss pays tribute to Graham

Away from the trade period for the moment, Fremantle forward Pat Voss has paid tribute to outgoing assistant coach Jaymie Graham, saying his ‘superpower’ is the connections he built at the Dockers as he prepares for life at North Melbourne.

He admits it will be a massive lossfor the Dockers.

Clubs coming for Nick Blakey

The Sydney defender is yet to say he wants to leave, and the Swans have said they have no desire to move on any of the Pullman Five yet.

However, Essendon, Geelong and St Kilda have all registered their interest in him, according to reports in The Age.

Of the five Swans linked to the Pullman incident, Blakey is the one who’s been constantly linked to a move, particularly to North Melbourne where his dad played more than 200 games.

Lots to play out.

Nathan O’Driscoll speaks on Tigers trade

He discusses his odd jumper photo.

“It happened so quickly with the trade, and I didn’t have a Richmond jumper, so I had to go to a friend’s house, and it was an extra large, so it was a loose fit with his son taking the pic.”

On why he left Freo

“For me, I’ve loved the last two years at Fremantle, but I wanted to play AFL consistently, and I was always worried about my spot in the side.

“I think it’s the right time for a switch mentally and to get a fresh start, and I see a bit of Fremantle in the Tigers with the way they’ve drafted and recruited.

“I think I’ve handled the last two months really well. I still had to come in and show I was committed and played decently in the grand final for Peel.”

Favourite pulls out of Lions coaching race

After Chris Fagan stepped down from the Lions’ top job, footy boss Danny Daly had been widely tipped as his successor.

However, Daly has pulled out of the race, throwing the door wide open with assistant Cam Bruce now in the box seat.

Could Nathan Buckley return to the Lions?

Is Rivers back on the Eagles' radar?

West Coast were interested in him, but it seemed to have cooled after going after Miers.

With that deal now dead, it could be back on.
