Forrestfield fire: Firefighters respond to blaze at factory on Abernethy Road

Firefighters remain at the scene of a fire in Forrestfield, with nearby residents warned about larges amounts of smoke.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said there was no threat to lives or homes after the blaze was reported about 5.20am on Wednesday.
The location of the fire is near the intersection of Abernethy Road and Beyer Place. The fire is believed to have erupted inside a silo at a processing facility.
“As a precautionary measure, people in the area should remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed,” DFES said.
“Air conditioners should also be switched off.”
