Motorists heading towards the city are facing lengthy delays after a two-car crash involving a light pole.

The left lane of Kwinana Freeway has been shut after a car and van crashed, causing a light pole to fall over after the Safety Bay Road exit in Baldivis.

Police said the incident was reported about 6.20am on Tuesday, with Main Roads warning of heavy traffic in the area.

Motorists have been reminded to drive with caution.

No one was injured in the crash.

Emergency crews also responded to a separate crash on Kiwinana Freeway, also involving a light pole.

At about 7.15am, a white Toyota panel van travelling southbound on Kwinana Freeway near South Terrace collided with a light pole.

The left lane was closed and St John Ambulance responded.

A man in his 50s was assessed at the scene but he didn’t need to go to hospital.

Traffic is backed up to Stephenson Avenue and motorists are urged to drive with caution.

Some motorists are out of their vehicles.
