Shocking video captures rogue camel throwing off two tourists during Cable Beach ride, both hospitalised

A rogue camel bucked off two tourists — sending them to hospital with injuries — when a ride on Broome’s picturesque Cable Beach went awry on Saturday.

The incident, which was filmed and posted online, has been described as a “one-off incident” by tour operator Red Sun Camels after two tourists were thrown to the ground.

A video shared online showed the spooked camel bucking repeatedly as the two riders struggled to stay on before being thrown onto the beach.

It is understood the two people were hospitalised, including a women in her 60s.

WA Country Health said one of the injured riders had been discharged from Broome Hospital. The second rider was in a stable condition on Monday night.

The ABC reported the two riders were tourists who were part of a larger travelling group.

A spokesman for Red Sun Camels told The West Australian the ordeal was a “one-off incident”. They said they were unable to provide comment at request of the family of the injured riders.
