Since 1955, Roly and Glenda Marshall have been inseparable, with the pair soon to celebrate their 70th anniversary. Tying the knot on September 3, 2025, 92-year-old Roly and 90-year old Glenda gathered with their friends and family last weekend to celebrate both their birthdays and their seven decades of marriage. With a loving family of three daughters, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren their celebration was a packed ordeal. Originally from Kalgoorlie, the pair retired to Busselton in 1985 and quickly became well-known members of the community. Over the past four decades, Mr and Mrs Marshall have dedicated much of their time and energy to a wide range of clubs and organisations in the Busselton region. The couple have been involved with the Busselton Rotary Club, the Busselton Over 50s Cycling Club and the Naturalists Club as well as leaving their mark on many major local events like Busselton Ironman and the Busselton Jetty Swim. They were also some of the first faces cruise ship visitors would see at the jetty, helpers at Cliff’s Kitchen and active volunteers at Busselton senior citizens. Both have remained active participants as long-standing members of Saint Mary’s Church with Glenda continuing her involvement with the Mothers’ Union. One of their daughters, Jenny Higgins, said their generosity had touched countless lives in the community. “Their enduring partnership, community spirit, and selfless service are an inspiration to all who know them,” she said.
