Perth weather: Sunny conditions tipped for City to Surf after week of rain across metro area

Perth will be treated to sunshine for the last week of winter, but not before a thunderstorm rolls across the metropolitan area bringing almost 40mm of rain.

After sporadic showers and a maximum of 20C on Sunday, Monday will be mostly sunny with a 20C high.

Tuesday will bring a small chance of 1mm of rain, and a 21C maximum, before the skies open on Wednesday.

Up to 35mm of rain is predicted with a chance of a morning thunderstorm, as the mercury reaches 20C.

The rain will stick around on Thursday, as the system is expected to bring another 4mm and a chilly 19C maximum.

Friday will be a partly cloudy 21, before the sun returns on Saturday with a mostly clear 23C high.

City to Surf runners will be treated to a sunny 24C maximum on Sunday, and no rain is expected.
