A crash on Tonkin Highway southbound in Hilbert has closed lanes, causing traffic headaches for motorists heading home on Wednesday evening.

The crash was reported at 3.49pm and occurred on Tonkin Highway southbound at Forrest Road.

A lane closure has been implemented, which is causing heavy congestion.

Main Roads has urged drivers to exercise “extreme” caution if driving in the area.

Another crash on High Street eastbound in Palmyra has reduced the major Perth road to a single lane.

The crash occurred on High Street before Carrington Street and was reported by Main Roads at 4.51pm.

Incident Response has shut the affected lane.

Traffic is extremely heavy leading up to the location, and Main Roads has reminded drivers to allow for a safe merge.

Yet another crash has closed the right lane of Mitchell Freeway northbound in Padbury.

The crash was reported on Mitchell Freeway northbound at Whitfords Avenue at 5.46pm.

Traffic is slow on approach.

A breakdown on Leach Highway westbound is also wreaking havoc for commuters heading towards Fremantle.

The breakdown has closed the centre lane of Leach Highway at Stock Road in Willagee.

The breakdown has since been cleared but traffic remains slow on approach, and Main Roads has urged drivers to drive carefully.
