Brookton Highway crash: RAC helicopter stood down with only minor injuries in two-vehicle crash

The RAC Rescue helicopter was stood down after a two-vehicle crash on Brookton Highway near Jelcobine, with those involved escaping serious injury on Monday. Two appliances from Brookton Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the scene at about 4.45pm, where a car had collided with a parked truck on Brookton Highway, near the intersection of Williams Road in Jelcobine, 108km south of Perth. The collision happened at about 4.18pm in the Shire of Brookton. A Department of Emergency Services spokesperson said crews assisted one occupant of the car out of the vehicle who suffered minor injuries. The other passenger in the car did not need assistance and no one was in the truck at the time of the collision, according to DFES. The RAC Rescue helicopter had landed but was sent back at about 5pm without needing to transport a patient and the other four DFES appliances that had been deployed were turned around. DFES cleaned up the area by about 5.30pm while St John WA and police did not attend.
