Husband, brother-in-law charged with murder of woman after ‘suspicious’ death in Springfield Lakes, near Ipswich

Two men have been charged with murder following the “suspicious” death of a woman west of Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to a home on Ash Ave in Springfield Lakes about 8pm on Friday, following reports a woman had collapsed.
Officers located the woman, 23, who was unconscious and not breathing.
Despite attempts by police and paramedics to resuscitate her, she was declared deceased at the scene.

A crime scene was established and two men – the woman’s husband, 26, and his 28-year-old brother – were taken into custody.
The men were initially helping police with their inquiries throughout Saturday.
In a further update, Queensland Police said both men had since been charged with one count each of murder.
They will front Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Michael Manago said detectives were running a number of lines of inquiry into what allegedly happened the night before.
He said he could not go into detail in regards to the woman’s alleged injuries until a post-mortem examination was completed.
