Land released for first time in decade at Broome Road Industrial Park as Govt housing nears completion

Nine general industrial lots at Broome Road Industrial Park have been released for presale, marking the first time in a decade that land has become available at the estate. Prices for the fully serviced lots available, ranging in size from 8888sqm to 4.2ha, start from $615,000. Each lot includes access to underground power, water and telecommunications. The release by the State Government aims to support businesses in Broome’s expanding industrial zone by providing space for equipment storage and large vehicle access. The estate is between the Broome town centre and the Great Northern Highway and 16km from Broome Port. It features an internal road network designed to provide strategic connectivity for industrial operations. Speaking at the industrial park on Thursday, Planning and Lands Minister John Carey said the land release would help address growing demand for serviced sites to support the region’s logistics, construction and resources sectors. He also announced the near-completion of four new Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) properties in Broome. The homes are intended to accommodate essential workers such as teachers, nurses and police officers and strengthen regional service delivery. The initiative comes amid a severe housing shortage in Broome, where rental availability is limited and the average weekly rent is about $1000. “Ensuring regional communities have access to critical State Government workers, such as teachers and police officers, is essential for achieving strong communities,” Mr Carey said. “Another four GROH properties in Broome will provide secure housing to our vital government workers delivering crucial services to the local community.”
