Bunbury detectives call on public assistance as they investigate aggravated burglary incident

Bunbury detectives are calling on assistance from the public as they investigate an aggravated burglary incident and high-value motor vehicle theft in Bunbury.

Detective senior constable Matt Callaghan said between 2.15am and 3am on Thursday June 11, offenders forced entry into a commercial premises in Davenport, causing significant damage.

“Once inside, the offender stole a high-value, red 2012 Ducati motorcycle from the premises, wheeling it out on to the street,” he said.

“The motorcycle was then loaded on to a dual-axle trailer attached to a white Mitsubishi Triton parked further down the road.”

There were no reports of further damaged or stolen items.

Sen. Const. Callaghan said police were unable to release the specific location of the incident and said it was important the victim’s privacy was respected.

He said police suspected it was a targeted incident, while there were no links to organised crime and detectives were investigating all lines of inquiry relating to the incident.

Sen. Const. Callaghan said the stolen 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale S Superbike motorcycle’s value was about $20,000 and described it as having a red body with black wheels, gold front forks, a tinted windscreen and “775” featured on the front.

The white Mitsubishi Triton is described as having black wing mirrors, a U-shaped attachment on top of the nudge bar, roof rails, side steps, a sports rack in the tub and light-coloured rims.

Sen. Const. Callaghan said information from the community was critical to help police identify the offenders, recover the stolen property and prevent further offending.

“Detectives believe there are people in the community of the South West who know the location of the stolen motorcycle and the identity of the Mitsubishi Triton,” he said.

“Those people are urged to contact Crime Stoppers where your report can be anonymous.”

Anyone with information about the location of the motorcycle and the identity of the Mitsubishi Triton is urged to contact Crime Stoppers either online or by calling 1800 333 000.

Police are asking anyone with footage from around the time of the incident in the vicinity of the Davenport area to upload it to investigators online.
