Untamed Uncut rocks Broome despite smaller format

Three days of musical entertainment delighted Broome audiences at the end of last month.
While it was a smaller version of the highly anticipated Untamed Festival, which has been postponed until 2026, Untamed Uncut still delivered “the spirit, scale and pulse” of the main festival in a more intimate setting at the Roebuck Bay Hotel.
A hand-picked lineup of artists from the original bill delivered the largest event in the Roey’s 130 years from September 19-21.
The weekend opened with performances by Ash Grunwald, the always-energetic Pierce Brothersand Broome’s own Stephen Pigram. The Kintet Band delivered soulful, rootsy sets that set the tone for the festival ahead.
Night two amped up the energy. Dubbed the main event, Saturday focused on rock anthems and raw power. Aussie alt-rock legends Spiderbait took centre stage, joined by powerhouse vocalist Abbe May and high-voltage rockers Legs Electric.
The festival wrapped up on Sunday with star DJs Havana Brown and Tigerlily bringing the perfect dance party finale.
Untamed Festival organisers said the decision to scale back this year’s plans would help ensure the 2026 event met their “big and bold ambitions” for the festival.
“We sincerely thank everyone for their support, confidence and ongoing belief in what Untamed stands for — delivering epic music, cultural connection and unforgettable live experiences,” they said.
