Cupcake kids extend RFDS thankyou
The Royal Flying Doctor Service has received a welcome financial boost from some thankful young supporters.
Mulberry Tree Childcare in Broome North held a cupcake fundraiser late last year in an effort to thank the RFDS for its tireless work helping patients get the urgent medical care they need. Through the power of the sweet tooth, the children managed to raise more than $60, which several of the hardworking RFDS doctors and nurses happily accepted on Thursday January 31.
Mulberry Tree Childcare staff member Michelle Young said the children were very excited to bake cupcakes in the name of charity. “We always like to be as involved with the community as possible, especially during the school holidays,” she said.
“Everybody likes cupcakes and it was awesome to see the kids bartering with their parents to buy more and more of them.
“Raising a total of $66.10 was a super effort, and seeing that the children loved doing it, we’ll definitely consider doing more.”
