Broome woman charged after allegedly stealing and assaulting retail workers

A 44-year-old Broome woman has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly assaulting staff at three local businesses on Wednesday, July 23.
Police allege the woman entered three businesses along Dampier Terrace, threatened and assaulted staff, in what police are describing a “serious incident”.
The woman was charged with two counts of stealing, two counts of racially aggravated assault, two counts relating to assaulting a retail worker, one count of aggravated burglary, one count of being armed, one count of criminal damage and two counts relating to making threats.

The woman appeared before Broome Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 24 and was remanded in custody.
She is next due to appear in the Broome Magistrates Court on September 1.
