Broome Touch Association’s close season continues with two one-point wins

Broome Touch Rugby Association’s extremely tight season has continued in round three, with two division one games again coming down to just a point.

In the first games of the evening at Father McMahon fields, the Greenbacks faced the All-Stars and the Pirates took on the Bushchooks.

At the end of the first half, the Greenbacks looked to be in a dominant position over the All-Stars after a massive three-try performance from Charles Oakley put them 7-4 ahead.

But the second half was the All-Stars’ with the team, usually one of the strongest in the competition, clawing back three tries.

In another tight game, the Pirates edged out the Bushchooks by a point.

The first half ended all square at three tries each.

After the break, Pirates scored six tries to the Bushchooks’ five to seal a 9-8 victory.

In the third division one game, Fyre were able to dominate Runaways, with three tries each to Zac Minshull and Jacob Predo blowing the score out to 13-3.

In the division two games, The Animals defeated Good Palpatations 9-6, Scoregasms beat Exploders 11-8 and the Primewest Panthers obliterated ARAC Attack 19-2.

In the final game of division, Stingers defeated Untouched 8-4.
