Alleged Tinder stalker Sean Ian Bruce Flintoff slapped with another charge, now faces more than 20

A South Australian man already accused of being a serial stalker of more than 20 women over a nine-year period has been slapped with another charge for similar alleged offending.

Sean Ian Bruce Flintoff, 35, was charged with one count of stalking while possessing an offensive weapon on Tuesday over an incident said to have happened between December 24 and November 11 at Elizabeth East.

The defendant appeared in Elizabeth Magistrates Court via video link on Tuesday afternoon when his lawyer asked for the hearing to be adjourned in light of the additional charge.

The lawyer said he needed time to speak to his client and get instructions on how to proceed.

Mr Flintoff faces a string of similar charges including seven counts of stalking and 15 counts of stalking in contravention of an order.

Police will allege Mr Flintoff targeted women in their 30s across metropolitan Adelaide over a nine-year period from 2012 to 2021.

According to SA Police, he met the majority of his alleged victims online through “well-known” dating sites and prominent online marketplace sites.

His alleged offending first came to light after one woman reported Mr Flintoff — whom she met on the dating app Tinder — to police because he began to stalk her and she “feared for her safety”.

Officers claimed to have found different types of evidence including mail in different women’s names when they searched his Andrews Farm home the day after the first woman spoke up.

More women came forward to police after seeing his initial charge publicly reported by SA Police and the media, sparking an investigation.

Mr Flintoff has had supporters attend all of his recent court cases and on Tuesday they flipped media the bird after hastily leaving the courthouse.

“Take a picture. It’ll last longer,” one yelled as they scurried around the corner of the courthouse.

The accused is due to reappear in court in January.
