Major crash investigating after man dies in fatal head-on-collision on Broomehill-Gnowangerup Road in Pallinup

Officers from the major crash investigation section are appealing for information after the death of a 45-year-old man in a head-on-collision in Pallinup on Tuesday. Emergency services received a triple-0 call at 4.42pm on July 8, and attended the crash scene involving a white Citroen hatchback and a blue Nissan Dualis station wagon on Broomehill-Gnowangerup Road, about 5km from the Great Southern town of Gnowangerup. The driver of the Citroen, a 45-year-old man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, a 26-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken via ambulance to Gnowangerup Hospital under lights and sirens before being airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital. Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews from Albany, Katanning, Gnowangerup and Tambellup attended the scene. The fatality adds to a horror start to the school holiday period, with six people killed on WA roads between July 3-6. There was a second fatality in Binningup on Tuesday.
