Albany Highway closed in both directions following horror collision between car and truck in Narrikup

Albany Highway is closed in both directions as police investigate a serious crash in Narrikup involving a cattle truck and car. Emergency services rushed to the scene of the horror crash near the intersection of Red Hill Road about 2.30pm on Wednesday. Police, Albany Fire and Rescue Service crews and three St John WA ambulance crews were sent to the crash site. All three ambulances were dispatched as priority ones, and remained on scene at 3pm. The condition of the vehicles’ occupants is not known. WA police said just before 4pm that officers from the major crash investigation section were headed to the scene to carry out investigations, and have asked members of the public to avoid the area. They say the detours may be in place for an extended period of time. Albany Highway remained closed in both directions between Mitchell Street and Spencer Road by 4pm, detours are in place and Main Roads are urging drivers to seek an alternate route.
