ANA 2025: Royals Saints and Kangas maintain strong early form with dominant round two wins to remain unbeaten

Royals Saints 1 maintained their early confidence in round two of the Albany Netball Association A1 competition on Saturday, defeating Railways 1 by 15 goals. The reigning premiers got away fast, with Sophie Loveridge and Rebecca Goodliffe moving the ball proficiently down the court and both captain Summer Stirling and Tayeesha Weeden shooting well throughout the first quarter to open up a 10-gaol advantage at quarter time. Railways worked hard to close the margin in the second term, shooting 10 goals with Reagan Warren and Kasey Warren in the goal circle, however Royals still held an 11-goal buffer at half time. In the second half Railways found their feet with four successive goals at one stage but Royals again took control, hitting 17 goals in the final quarter to record a comfortable 54-39 win. Kangas 1 also played a fierce game, notching their second win of the season by defeating Magpies 1. It was a comfortable 20-goal win in the end for Kangas who netted the first two goals of the game and had a strong run into quarter time to lead 15-6. Kangas still led by nine goals after the second term but the margin was extended by a cohesive Kangas side in the last half. Magpies worked hard to peg the margin back but Kangas hit the final five goals of the game to run out winners 52-32. The match between Narrikup 1 and Bullets 1 was rescheduled to Tuesday night, and Narrikup 1 snatched a 16-goal win over Bullets 1 with scores at 52-36 at the final whistle.
