Shooting Stars staff, partners, supporters and friends gathered at The Ritz-Carlton, Perth to celebrate the program’s 10-year milestone in style.

Shooting Stars is an engagement program that walks alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women within host schools and communities. It supports young women through connection, learning, leadership and wellbeing so participants can drive their own success.

The evening began with a performance by award-winning Noongar Nunga musician Indigo Ellis as guests arrived, setting the tone ahead of formalities.

The celebration then opened with a Welcome to Country by Honey Webb, followed by a cultural performance by her dance group, Kwopidok Kenniny Yok. Guests heard speaker addresses from Shooting Stars executive officer Helen Ockerby, Glass Jar Australia Chairperson Glenda Kickett, and Minister for Heritage Simone McGurk.

The evening also featured a partner panel discussion, award presentations and showcases of Shooting Stars, alongside a live artwork created on-site throughout the evening by Karajarri, Naaguja, Noongar, Māori artist, Jarnda Councillor-Barns.

Guests finished the night on the dancefloor to the upbeat live band Get Groove, followed by DJ Agapantha.
