There’s another drop of Honda Civic Type R hot hatches bound for Australia, and there are more coming this time around.
A total of 98 examples will be available to order in Honda Centres from 12:00pm on Monday, July 6, and from 3:00pm that day online, priced at $85,000 drive-away.
Customer deliveries are set for December 2026.
This follows a batch of just 18 examples of the hottest Civic, announced back in February.
No further allocations are planned for Australia this year.

While the latest batch of Civic Type Rs is priced the same as the one announced in February, these incoming arrivals will do without a carbon-fibre rear wing. This was made standard fitment on the allocation announced in February, having previously been a $5300 option.
Otherwise, the Civic Type R is unchanged.
At $85,000 drive-away, Honda’s hot hatch is $12,900 more expensive than it was at its 2023 launch.
It’s unclear when future allocations will arrive, and how much those vehicles would cost.

The Civic Type R continues to use a high-revving, turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 235kW of power and 420Nm of torque.
This is mated to a six-speed manual transmission with automatic rev-matching, with drive sent exclusively to the front wheels.
Other performance hardware includes adaptive dampers, Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential, and Honda’s signature three-outlet valved exhaust system.
19-inch black alloy wheels are standard, as is an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, and sports seats finished in red upholstery.

Tech-wise, it’s fitted with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 10.2-inch cockpit-style digital instrument display.
Its steeper price tag means the Civic Type R is considerably more expensive than the Toyota GR Corolla (from $67,990 before on-road costs) and the Volkswagen Golf R ($71,990 before on-roads).
Despite the high price, Honda Australia says the last big batch of Civic Type Rs, announced back in August 2025, sold out quickly.
