Chloe Fineman has announced she is leaving Saturday Night Live after seven years.

The popular cast member revealed the news in a lengthy post shared on social media, describing her stint with the iconic late-night sketch comedy show as “the greatest privilege” of her life.

“After 7 wonderful seasons at SNL I have decided it’s time for my next chapter,” the Instagram post began.

“It’s cliche to say this but working at SNL has been the greatest privilege of my life. I still can’t really believe I got to be a part of it. I fell in love with the place the second I walked through the door.”

The 37-year-old reflected on the ups and downs of the job and the people she go to work with along the way.

“Every day I was lucky enough to be surrounded by the best people in the business, and I was constantly amazed watching them work. Sewing a jojo Siwa costume in 10 hours,” the caption continued.

“I’m definitely not the first to make this observation but it really is funny looking back at it all now, because at the show you get so invested in everything you work on.

“You sob uncontrollably when your sketch isn’t picked. You storm into a producer’s office telling them they just made the biggest mistake of their lives.

“You call everyone you know to complain. And then you look back a few years later and it was a sketch called ‘lipstick for thicc dogs.’

“But that’s just the show. You respect it so much that you give it absolutely everything you have even when it’s incredibly stupid.”

Despite saying her departure is the right move, the actress conceded walking away from the late-night show and its team was not an easy decision to make.

“It’s really hard to leave SNL but it does feel like the right time. I’m going to miss it a lot,” she added.

“But the people who work there are my family and that place is my home, and I know I’ll never be too far away.”

Fineman’s heartfelt words were accompanied by a carousel of photos capturing her time on set and behind the scenes over the years.

Shared snaps show her with celebrities such as Ariana Grande and Glen Powell, with a photo of her topless wearing a latex cast over her breasts appearing on the final slide.

Her departure comes ahead of the sketch comedy’s 52nd season after another Saturday Night Live cast member, Bowen Yang, announced his exit from the show after seven seasons.

Fineman joined the series as a featured player in 2019 before being promoted to the main cast two years later.

Throughout her run, she earned acclaim for celebrity impressions including Jennifer Coolidge, Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears, Nicole Kidman and Timothée Chalamet, while becoming a regular fixture in the show’s live sketches and pre-recorded comedy segments.
