Injury carnage at West Coast Eagles training as multiple players appear hurt in intraclub scratch match

Carnage has reigned at West Coast’s intraclub with co-captain Liam Duggan, top midfielder Jack Graham and second-year Eagle Tom Gross all leaving the field with injury in the first half. Duggan’s day was over after only one term after the premiership defender was left worse for wear following a big bump Gross in the first term at Mineral Resources Park on Friday morning. Duggan left the ground in the hands in the hands of trainers and appeared to be doing a concussion test on the sidelines after the incident which occurred just moments before the first break. Top draftee Cooper Duff-Tytler was the positive story of the first term, kicking three goals in a starring performance that will push his case for round one. The 18-year-old added a fourth in the second quarter when he ran into an open goal after Harley Reid selflessly dished off to him late in the second term before he went into the ruck after half-time where his athleticism shone. Duff-Tytler capped off his day with a fifth just before the final siren, to set tongues wagging about what the teenager can produce in his maiden season. Reid was rewarded not long after with a goal of his own after he took a strong mark in the right forward pocket before kicking truly on his left. The third-year Eagle was among the best midfielders alongside Tom McCarthy, with both putting in strong four-quarter performances. Duff-Tytler’s fellow first-round draftee Josh Lindsay made the most of Baker’s absence with a strong showing at half-back, as his skills stood out as he hit several targets with composure in traffic. Yeo added a second in the next quarter playing as a midfielder, with the premiership star getting through three quarters before being put on ice.
