WAFL 2021: Haiden Schloithe, Greg Clark, Hugh Dixon make the team of the week

Backline Cody Leggett (EF) A great user out of defence, there’s an argument that he was the Sharks’ best in their victory over East Perth. Drew Rohde (S) A pillar in defence for Subiaco, Rohde held strong under immense pressure from West Perth. Half Back Nelson Waite (SD) Racked up 29 disposals off half-back for Swan Districts against a forward line full of experience. Blake Schlensog (SF) Putting his hand up to be the recruit of the season. Was damaging with his run and kicking out of defence for the Bulldogs. Lachlan Martinis (C) A constant danger across half back for the Tigers, Martinis collected another great haul of disposals with 30 against Perth. Centre Connor West (WP) Collected a team-high 30 touches and send the ball inside 50 on eight occasions to be their most important midfielder. Greg Clark (S) Kicked the match-winner for Subiaco after having a career-best game which saw him collect 37 touches, 11 marks and eight tackles. Leigh Kitchin (S) Could well be leading the Sandover Medal after three rounds. Had 32 touches in another great showing. Half Forward Steven Edwards (SF) One of the best games of his WAFL career, Edwards kicked three goals and set up a few more to be a threat up forward all game. Tyler Keitel (WP) Continues to hit the scoreboard in a big way every week. Kicked four goals against Subiaco to go with 17 touches. Ben Sokol (S) Spearheading Subiaco’s run back to the finals, bagged four goals against West Perth in an instrumental performance. Forward Cody Ninyette (SF) Booted three goals and had six score involvements. Is one of the most damaging forward in the WAFL right now. Hugh Dixon (EF) Clunked 10 marks to go with two goals to help lead East Fremantle to a very important win over the Royals. Harrison McCracken (C) Kicked four goals and had five inside 50s to spearhead Claremont’s win over Perth. Ruck Scott Jones (EP) Kicked three goals to go with 25 hit-outs and 13 disposals in a stand-out display. Haiden Schloithe (SF) Putting his hand up for another Sandover Medal after collecting 33 disposals, seven clearances and three goals against Peel. Matt Riggio (SD) Took a career-high 15 marks to go with 32 touches in a best-on-ground performance for Swan Districts. Interchange Milan Murdock (EF) The young midfielder is quickly becoming one of the Sharks’ most important. Had 27 touches and four inside 50s. Lloyd Meek (PT) Was Peel’s best in a loss to South Fremantle with three goals and 31 hitouts. Frank Anderson (SD) The Robin to Sam Fisher’s Batman is putting together a good season and stepping out of the Sandover medallist’s shadow. Jake Patemore (C) Simply dominant for Claremont with seven inside 50s and a goal from 28 touches.
