Tokyo Olympics: Beach volleyballers Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy drop F-bombs

Not only was the sand hot during Mariafe Artacho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy’s beach volleyball match - but the language was too.

With the temperature in the shade at Tokyo’s Shiokaze Park hitting a blistering 32C, the Aussie pair set televisions at home alight by dropping a few F-bombs.

During timeouts, del Solar and Clancy were picked up by the microphones discussing tactics ... with the occasional swear word thrown in.

At one stage early in the second set, the pair could be heard saying: “Got to start bringing that variation in, especially if we’re not going to be able to ... Yes, when you go back to the line it’s such a f...... good hit, OK.”

The commentators at first ignored the bad language, just referring to the advice Clancy and del Solar were giving each other as they slipped behind Latvia early in the set.

But when Clancy then dropped another F-bomb in between play, one of the commentators could no longer contain herself.

“There’s the chat from the Aussies! Preferred it when Taliqua Clancy was in that midnight time slot the other night,” she quipped.

“Not sure about the language at 10 or 11 in the morning but we’ll let it go through to the keeper.”

Clancy and del Solar can be forgiven for their language, going on to win the match against Latvia’s Tina Graudina and Anastasija Kravcenoka in two sets 23-21 21-13.

They play the USA in the gold medal match tomorrow.
