As Fremantle’s flag charge reaches a critical juncture, the WA Premier is using cutting-edge technology to show his support for the Dockers.

Fremantle landed in Sydney on Wednesday night as they prepare for Friday’s preliminary final against the Swans with just one more win separating them from a second grand final berth.

The Dockers are heavy favourites for the clash given the host of Swans stars missing from their side, but that hasn’t stopped Premier Roger Cook from using his powerful resources to help paint the New South Wales capital purple and bring Wharfie Time to Sydney.

“A huge thanks to the City of Sydney for rolling out the purple carpet today for our boys,” the post read.

“Best of luck Freo - we’re behind you all the way!”

The post was also reshared by Deputy Premier and Minister for Sport and Recreation Rita Saffioti, who doubled down on the AI craze to help create some custom emojis for the clash.

While a concerning section of people were unable to tell that Sydney had not actually hung a giant Wharfie Time banner off the Harbour Bridge, the ‘art’ has been largely well received, particularly the choice to put forward Pat Voss on the Opera House.

“When AI is used for good,” one wrote.

“Love this. Great choice of Vossy on the Sydney Opera House,” another said.

“Opera House should be lit up that way 10:15pm Friday night.”

However, not everyone was happy to join in the fun, with some criticising the use of AI by the Premier.

“Wow! Great that the Premier’s office can afford a Digital Images Specialist in its Social Media Division. Great to see my GST being put to good use,” one wrote.
