Geelong star Bailey Smith has responded in true Bailey Smith fashion after seemingly being caught out dating two women in one day, with one accusing him of ‘planning a future’ with her and ‘400 other girls’.
But while everyone’s been quick to jump on it, it has to be said that it doesn’t look like Smith’s done anything wrong, and if he’s single, he can date who he wants.
Sydney woman Tahlia took to TikTok on Sunday evening, posting a series of screenshots and images captioned: “love bombing should be studied”.
The first image showed her and Smith sitting in a car, with the caption: “POV when he’s planning his future with you and 400 other girls”.
The second image was a screenshot from another woman, Mia’s page, showing Smith and Mia posing together in a mirror.
Things escalated when Tahlia messaged Mia to ask when the photo had been taken. The pair quickly realised they had both spent time with Smith on the same day, and he appeared to be wearing the same outfit in both images.
The two women also claimed the photos were taken in the same location, alleging they were snapped just “three hours apart”, describing it as “crazy work”.
Tahlia later shared screenshots showing the timestamps of the images, with one reading “Manly 22 June 7:38am” and the other “22 June 7:03pm”.
Smith has since responded, posting on Instagram asking for “date night recs pls” before sharing a photoshopped image of him at the same mirror, but he is with St Kilda star Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.
One of his followers’ response read: “I think we should be talking about nas’s 46 & 4,” referencing the 46 disposals and four goals Wanganeen-Milera got on the weekend against North Melbourne.
He also shared multiple other responses to his date recommendations post, seemingly poking fun at the situation:“Places with no mirrors,” someone wrote. Smith responded “fair shout”.
“Pokies,” someone else joked. Smith jokingly agreed “ah yes the bricky’s laptop.”
TikTok users were quick to weigh in on Tahlia’s post, with reactions ranging from outrage to amusement.
“Running a serious program,” one person commented.
“Real life John Tucker Must Die s***,” another wrote.
Love Island Australia star Boston also joined the conversation, posting a screenshot of Smith asking to work out with her — to which she replied: “nup”.
Others, however, were quick to defend the AFL star.
“You know people can do what they want when they are single right?” one user wrote.
“BREAKING: Attractive, famous athlete pursues many women at once, more at 6,” another joked.
“Why does he keep agreeing to take the photo,” a third questioned.
