A Taiwanese lifestyle and diving influencer has suddenly died at the age of 36, with her mother announcing the devastating news.

Li Runrun, a content creator who boasted an Instagram following of more than 360,000 followers, became popular for sharing her passion for diving and ocean conservation.

Her death was announced earlier this week in a post on Runrun’s account written by her mother, who paid tribute to her “beloved” daughter.

“Yesterday, my beloved Runrun - my little ‘fish’ - completed the final ceremony of her life,” she said on Monday.

She also thanked Runrun’s relatives, friends and diving companions for supporting the family and attending the memorial service.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to her relatives, close friends, best friends, and fellow diving companions.”

“As her mother, I want to thank you for the companionship you shared with Runrun and for the warmth and help you so generously gave her.

“I will always cherish the memory of your kindness, and should the opportunity arise in the future, I hope to repay that kindness to you on her behalf.”

The influencer’s mother described it as Runrun beginning her “final journey”, but did not reveal how she died. No cause or circumstances surrounding the 26-year-old’s death have been publicly disclosed.

Runrun’s death has prompted an outpouring of grief from her online followers, many of whom commented on the Instagram post to leave heartfelt messaged of condolence.

“Please accept my deepest condolence,” one person wrote.

Another simply added: “RIP”.

News of Runrun’s death was announced just days before TikTok star Sydney Towle died following a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer.

The 26-year-old passed away on Wednesday, nearly three years after she was diagnosed with bile duct cancer.

Her family announced the heartbreaking news on Thursday.

“Rest in peace Sydney Elizabeth Towle,” her family wrote alongside a picture of her on a mountaintop.

“An endless ray of sunshine. A daughter, sister, and friend to so many.

“We will always love you so much Sydney. I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you.”

Her death comes just one day after her brother announced she had moved to hospice care.
