12-year-old Logan Carter dies after fall from playground equipment in Cheshire, father pays tribute

A 12-year-old described as “much-loved” has died in a tragic fall from playground equipment at a park near his home.
Logan Carter was fatally injured at Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford, Cheshire, England, on Friday, August 29
The incident happened just after 6 pm local time, according to a statement released by the Cheshire Constabulary.
The BBC reported Logan was hurt after falling from park apparatus. Paramedics attempted to treat him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Sergeant John Rhodes urged the public to assist with the investigation.
“As part of our investigation into this incident, we are asking anyone who may have been in or around the Wharton Recreation Ground area just off Ledward Street in Winsford at around the time of the incident and saw anything that may aid us in our enquiries, to please get in touch,” Mr Rhodes said in remarks published by The Independent.
He cautioned, “At this stage, I would also like to ask the public not to feed into any speculation, particularly on social media, as this remains an ongoing investigation.”
Logan’s family described him as a “much-loved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, cousin and friend to many” in a message published in the Constabulary release.
“He had an infectious personality and a beautiful smile,” the statement said.
“Everyone wanted to be near Logan. He was full of life and loved bringing laughter. He made every day feel brighter.”
The family added, “Logan was everyone’s therapy person, their calm, and he will be missed more than words can ever express. We are leaning on all the support shown to us as we try to come to terms with the devastating loss of our blue-eyed boy.”
Logan’s grieving father, Rob Carter, also wrote a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook on Saturday.
“When I (woke) up on Friday my little mate I didn’t think that would be the last time I get to see you,” he wrote, adding, “My heart has been ripped in two.”

“All I can say to people is hold your kids and tell them every day how much you love them because you never know when they will be gone,” he said in a later post.
A GoFundMe has since been launched to help support Logan’s family following their loss.
