The winning outlet that sold Thursday’s $40m Powerball jackpot ticket has been revealed, as the hunt for the new multi-millionaire continues.
The winning entry was purchased from Thistle Kiosk at Westfield Woden, a NSW Lotteries outlet in the ACT.
It is the third biggest lottery prize ever won in Canberra.
However, The Lott officials have so far been unable to track down the player as their winning ticket was not registered.
It has left officials instead eagerly waiting for the ticket holder to come forward.
The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said he could not wait for the country’s newest multi-millionaire to check their ticket and discover the news.
“What an incredible way to finish FY26,” he said.
“Someone has become an overnight multi-millionaire but possibly doesn’t know it yet.
“Just imagine how $40m might change your life and the lives of your nearest and dearest.”
Mr Hart urged residents and visitors in the ACT who purchased an entry in Thursday’s Powerball to check their tickets.
“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket and phone 131 868 as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process,” he said.
The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1571 on Thursday were 7, 29, 25, 18, 26, 23 and 17. The Powerball number was 16.
