Perth traffic: Section of two roads closed as bushfire burns next to road in Neerabup

A section of two roads in Perth’s northern suburbs have been closed as a bushfire rages nearby.

Hester Avenue between Mitchell Freeway and Wanneroo Road in Neerabup has been blocked off from motorists after Emergency WA reported the blaze about 3:07pm.

Wanneroo Road between Neerabup Road and Romeo Road has also been shut.

A short clip posted to Main Roads’ X about 3:31pm shows a bushfire burning as plumes of smoke drift over the road.

Crews from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services are attending the scene, with a helicopter seen fighting the blaze.

Motorists are urged to seek an alternative route.
