A crash on Kwinana Freeway southbound in Salter Point reduced the major Perth motorway to just one lane as peak hour hit on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred on the southbound lane of the Freeway just metres from the Mount Henry Bridge, and was reported by Main Roads at 3.58pm.

It appears the cars involved stopped on either side of the Freeway, which has been reduced to a single lane.

Debris was also been reported across the lanes.

Main Roads has reminded motorists to drive with “extreme” caution if approaching the area, as the lane closure paired with peak hour traffic numbers is causing heavy congestion and delays.
