Perth traffic: Kwinana Freeway closed northbound from Thomas Road after crash in which car catches fire

Kwinana Freeway has been reduced to a single lane northbound after a dramatic crash with a vehicle catching fire.

The freeway had been closed northbound at Thomas Road, with flames spewing from the vehicle and thick black smoke rising into the air.

A lane has since reopened, with traffic extremely heavy in the area.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and where possible seek an alternative route.

Firefighters are on site dealing with the situation.
