Perth traffic: Boy taken to hospital after being hit by car in Bayswater as peak-hour headaches build
A young boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Bayswater.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of Whatley Crescent and Leake Street about 8am on Wednesday.
The boy, who is aged under 10, was rushed to Perth Children’s Hospital where he remains in a stable condition on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
The incident was not the only crash causing chaos across Perth’s roads on Wednesday.
A crash on St George’s Terrace eastbound in the CBD reduced traffic to a single lane.
Police and an ambulance rushed to the scene and traffic was heavy on approach.
A crash on Albany Highway southbound before Wharf Street in Cannington blocked the left lane.
Police and firefighters were on site, and traffic was clogged in the area.
Motorists were also made aware of a breakdown on Mitchell Freeway southbound at Karrinyup Road in Stirling, which closed the left emergency lane.
Traffic was heavy on approach after a breakdown on Tonkin Highway northbound before Welshpool Road East in Wattle Grove, with the right lane blocked.
