A Vinnies op shop in Ellenbrook has been left heavily damaged, as a woman fights for her life from a separate incident in which she was hit by a taxi in Como on Wednesday night.

Emergency services were called to the shopfront incident on The Promenade about 5.45pm on Wednesday.

When they arrived they found the shop front completely smashed, with broken glass littering the pavement and the floor inside.

Police said no injuries were reported.

It was later confirmed the damage to the shop was limited to the smashed glass window, with no serious structural damage found.

Officers are conducting inquiries into the circumstances that led to the crash.

The incident came hours before a woman had to be rushed to Royal Perth Hospital in a serious condition after she was hit by a taxi on Canning Highway about midnight.

Police said there had been a brawl at a pub near South Terrace prior to the crash, however, there is no suggestion the two incidents were related.

The driver of the taxi is assisting police with their inquiries.

In another traffic incident overnight, a car crashed into a speed camera in Belmont near Ascot Racecourse.
