Greenwood crash: ‘Serious’ crash closes major road in Perth’s north amid peak-hour chaos
Wanneroo Road has been closed after a “serious” crash in the city’s northern suburbs on Monday afternoon, with one motorist taken to hospital with severe injuries.
The major road was closed northbound between Marangaroo Drive and Hepburn Avenue in Greenwood, in an alert issued by Main Roads at 4.10pm on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services attended the scene.
It is believed two motorcycles and “at least one” car have collided, and one male motorcyclist has been taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash has since been cleared and Wanneroo Road has reopened.
A breakdown has also occurred on the Narrows Bridge on the Mitchell Freeway southbound.
The right lane of the Freeway has been completely blocked by the breakdown, and towing services are on site.
Once again, Main Roads have requested drivers to proceed with caution.
The breakdown has also been cleared, but traffic is slow on approach.
A truck has also broken down on the Kwinana Freeway northbound exit onto Beeliar Drive in Jandakot, next to Cockburn Gateway shopping centre.
The right lane was blocked by the breakdown, although it has now been cleared and traffic is flowing.
