The WA kids of the moment, the Telethon Little Stars, have taken part in their first official duty in their esteemed new position.
Olivia Street, Aiden Narsico and Paige McKay were unveiled as ambassadors for the 2026 Telethon Weekend last week and already, they are making their mark.
Ahead of the Telethon weekend on October 17 and 18, the trio of little stars helped cut the ribbon on a new mural at the Rottnest Express Northport terminal.
In what perfectly represents the life-changing fundraiser’s theme, Incredible Together, the little stars will be immortalised forever by adding their hand prints to the colourful artwork.
Olivia, 7, and Aiden, 9, joined Channel Seven favourite Fat Cat and Rottnest Express’ mascot, Rex, at the unveiling in Fremantle, representing on behalf of their fellow little star Paige, 8, who was unwell on the day.
Aiden reiterated how proud he was to be a Telethon Little Star and declared he was “so happy I get to do more fun stuff”.
The nine-year-old described adding his hand prints to the mural as “pretty fun,” and said he had already prepared for Telethon weekend by memorising the phone number people call to donate.
Olivia was buzzing too, describing her Telethon Little Star experience as “very cool”.
She revealed she had already been asked to sign autographs for classmates and teachers at school, which made her feel like her favourite pop star, Taylor Swift.
The new mural will feature the hand prints of Telethon Little Stars into the future, with this year’s ambassadors called upon to deliver the inaugural prints, symbolising the many incredible stories behind the children and families supported through Telethon.
The mural marks the beginning of a busy and important few weeks for Olivia, Aiden and Paige as WA counts down to the Telethon weekend.
Each dollar raised helps fund life-changing programs, equipment and research which this year supported 147 Telethon beneficiary organisations across WA.
