Hippies and rockers light up the floor for charity at the Bunbury Op Shop Ball 2024

Rockers, fun-loving hippies and ABBA fans of all ages were among the 300 who lit up the floor on Saturday night for Bunbury’s biggest charity dance event.

This year’s annual Rotary Op Shop Ball, hosted by Greater Bunbury Rotary and Camp Quality at the South West Italian Club, celebrated 25 years of raising funds for local causes and events.

A fun night of auctions, games, music entertainment with a 70s theme kept ball-goers on the dance floor with the sounds of the premier rock and roll band, the Tone Smiths.

Op Shop Ball chairman Doug Green said the support from the community for this year’s ball had been outstanding.

“The success of the annual Op Shop Ball is down to the enormous generosity of many sponsors, and the community who continue to throw their support behind the event,” he said.

“We’ve raised thousands again, which will support Camp Quality and a number of important Rotary projects in the South West community.

“On behalf of the committee, I’d love to thank everybody who made this year’s ball such a success.”
