Easter festivities set to bring community together at Lakeside Dunsborough
It has been confirmed the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance in Dunsborough at the weekend, stopping by to join an afternoon of Easter celebrations.
On Sunday April 5, Lakeside Golf Club Dunsborough will be hosting its first Easter on the Green, a family-friendly event filled with easter festivities and live music.
Held from 12pm to 6pm, event coordinator Natacha Solberg said there would be something for everyone including a kids fun zone, Easter egg hunts, raffles, food and drink.
Ms Solberg said the event would also be focused around “local music”, bringing together artists from the community and giving them another opportunity to perform.
“The event has grown from what we’ve been building at Lakeside over time ,what started with open mic day and moving into regular gigs, where local artists were given their first paid opportunities,” she said.
“Many of the performers, including Dusty Rule and Hannah Hale, started here and have since grown, released music, and built their own following.”
Other performers set to keep everyone entertained will include those from singing school Soundwave, Busselton’s Battle of the Bands winner Kullablind, Kiedis Solberg and Turin Robinson.
Ms Solberg said support from those behind the scenes, businesses and sponsors over the past couple of months had played a crucial role in launching the event.
“It’s been a consistent, community-supported effort, and those funds have directly helped bring Easter on the Green to life,” she said.
“It’s something we plan to continue throughout the year — not just to support this event, but to build towards future community events over the summer.”
“It’s another example of how local businesses and locals themselves are working together to make these opportunities possible.”
Ms Solberg said this was an important event in the current climate giving families staying in the region over the Easter a special event to enjoy with the community.
