Meghan Markle has given a behind-the-scenes look into her private family’s European holiday.
She shared 11 photos with her 4.7 million Instagram followers, which was captioned “Summer holiday” with an emoji of the sun.
Pictures included one of seven-year-old Archie sitting in the cockpit of a plane wearing a pilot’s hat and one of Prince Harry throwing Lilibet in a pool while donning a backwards hat.
But one particular image has caught the world’s eye.
In it, the backs of Prince Harry, Lilibet, and Archie can be seen walking along a grass path lined with trees and hedges.
It is believed the image was taken at Althorp, the Spencer family estate where Princess Diana grew up.
Prince Harry and Archie are both carrying large bouquets of flowers, which has sparked speculation that the family may have been visiting Princess Diana’s burial site, which is located on an island in the middle of the estate’s Oval Lake.
Her brother, Charles Spencer, wrote in his book Althorp: The Story Of An English House that there was a reason the grave was inaccessible to the public and sitting on private property.
He said that the lake was “(acting) as a buffer against the interventions of the insane and ghoulish, the thick mud presenting a further line of defence”.
The image from Althorp was ninth in Ms Markle’s Instagram carousel, which gave a rare insight into the family’s trip.
The first image was a black and white photo of her and Prince Harry laughing over a meal.
Other photographs included Archie walking barefoot as the sun sets, one of Meghan standing on the shore as her family run into breaking waves at the beach, and another of Meghan laying with a dog, by what appears to be a pool.
She shared one of the images, a photo of her and Lilibet walking away from the camera alongside turquoise waters, on her Instagram story with Cliff Richard and The Shadows’ Summer Holiday playing.
Although the photos of the children don’t show their faces, it is clear how much the pair have grown since they were last in the public eye.
The post comes weeks after the family reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla for the first time in years.
