Topdrill sundowner calls on delegates to open wallets for local services
Two well-loved services are set for a financial boost when hundreds of resource industry delegates gather for Topdrill’s Resources Industry Charity Sundowner this weekend.
Held the day before the Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum gets under way, the event raises money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Full Circle Therapies, with guests set to open their wallets during a night of live music, gourmet canapes and a high-roller auction on Sunday.
Topdrill managing director and founder Tim Topham said he was looking forward to welcoming about 400 guests from across Australia to the company’s state-of-the-art headquarters to support the services.
“Getting stuck in to support charities that support our Goldfields community is what Topdrill is all about,” he said.
Full Circle Therapies chair Luke Bowler said the fundraiser was “crucial” to the service’s mission to provide essential paediatric allied health services to local families.
“Our passionate staff are dedicated to offering vital therapies, ensuring better health and brighter futures for our children, (and these) contributions make a significant difference,” he said.
RFDS WA chief executive Judith Barker said the money would support the service’s vital aeromedical support in the Goldfields, which last year saw 1474 patients flown from the region.
She said the local community was generous to the service all year, but gave special thanks to the resources community for its ongoing support through this annual event..
The sundowner has raised more than $620,000 for the services since its inception in 2020.
