From health and beauty to agriculture and automotive, a local TAFE that offers it all has its eyes on the big prize after rising above the rest at an awards night last month.

North Regional TAFE, which has a number of campuses across the Kimberley, has been short-listed for the 2017 Australian Training Awards in Canberra next month after winning a major award.

It was crowned the Large Training Provider of the Year at the WA Training Awards on September 15, where the State’s best students, lecturers and training providers were recognised.

Managing director Kevin Doig accepted the award in Perth and said staff had worked tirelessly to make the TAFE what it is today.

“The win is testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff,” he said. “The judges noted the enthusiasm of students and the positive engagement with staff during their visit, and it’s really encouraging to see this being recognised.”

North Regional TAFE has six campuses in the Kimberley — in Broome, Derby, Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek, Kununurra and Wyndham.
