Man sought after assault on pearl diver

Police believe this man might be able to assist with their investigation into an alleged unprovoked pub assault on one of Broome’s oldest pearl divers, Akira Masuda.

Masuda, 83 was allegedly attacked shortly after 6pm in the pub’s toilets on Tuesday, September 19 by an unknown man.

Police said the alleged assault was unprovoked, and the victim received an injury to his head.
