A man has been charged after police seized 13kg of cannabis with a street value of about $642,000 in Broome last month.

Michael Leslie Morgan, 51, appeared in Broome Magistrate’s Court on Friday and was remanded in custody to reappear on November 17.

Police believe the cannabis was transported from Perth, intended for distribution in the Kimberley town.

Acting Detective Inspector Gary Saunders said information from the community aided the investigation.

“Information from the public is always welcomed,” he said. “We need that to get these sort of results.”

Mr Morgan has been charged with the intent to sell or supply (cannabis), two counts of unlawful possession and one count of unlicensed ammunition.
